Lions Give Up!!!!
Since the introduction of “real” football, The Shooters have been the dominant team in Shanghai, winning 8 trophies to the Lions 3. On top of that, our Manila win really hurt them more than anything. It has been hard for the Lions to take all this in. Last year, must have been the final straw for them. To go a whole season without lifting any trophy, not even any of the diddy ones!! Well, they have decided not to join the SIFL this year, stating that Tianma was too far for their players. I will miss the “big” games against them, but I will not miss their behaviour on the park, especially of those 2 Moroccan Twats!!! Good riddance to them, and I am sorry they did not have the backbone to try and challenge us this year.
Goble and Wallace Win!!
Rob Goble and Brian Wallace have won the first ever Shanghai Shooters Golf Tournament. With a score of 83, they tied with Peter Grant and Nick Rose, but they took the honours after a “drink off” in the new Shooters dodgy haunt, Nature Bar.
Steve Bell and Sean Hurley took the Wooden Spoon with their 99.
Shooters Pull Off Signing Sensation!!
Owner, Chairman, Treasurer, Manager, Coach, Striker and Sweeper, John Jofre(with great help from Chief Scout, Jon Grant), has pulled off the signing sensation of the history of the SIFL.
On the Bosman ruling, Jimmy Allen has joined the Shooters from Shanghai United. Personnel terms were undisclosed, but it is believed that 10 kegs of beer and 10 litres of Jack Daniel’s will work its way down Mr. Allen’s gullet in the coming months.
When interviewed, James Allen said “The Shanghai Shooters are the only team I have ever wanted to play for! This is a great chance for me to prove my drinking ability on a bigger stage, and I am looking forward to Manila, to show my abilities on the International front. I can’t thank the Chairman, Mr. Jofre, enough for giving me this once in a lifetime opportunity” The Shooters have now been installed as 7/4 favourites at Ladbrokes to win the title.
